May 6, 2021 Day 19: Springdale UT
Today, we hiked the Watchmen trail. We planned our four days in Zion Canyon NP with a lady with smiling blue eyes and dyed red hair in the adventure place across the street. There are two trails accessible through our campsite; the others are only accessible through shuttles or bikes.
During our hike, I felt dizzy and a lack of oxygen even though I was drinking water. I have never been so tired on a hike - I guess dry heat isn’t for me. I must have had heat exhaustion: nausea, shortness of breath, quick pulse. We made it down in the trail around the mountain in nearly 100 degree weather. I could only look at the rocks and red, cracked dirt.
Are you okay, now? Hydrate! Hydrate! Hydrate! Don't overdo activities before a hike.
Sleep enough and take a nap, too!
Wear a BIG hat.
...or am I just old? 🤣
